چکیده
A new class of functions with a unique identification minor is introduced: functions determined by content and singletons. Relationships between this class with other known classes of functions with a unique identification minor are investigated. Some properties of functions determined by content and singletons are established, especially concerning invariance groups and similarity.

Uncertainty measures for evidential reasoning I: A review
This paper is divided into two parts. Part I discusses limitations o f the measures of global uncertainty o f Lamata and Moral and total uncertainty o f Klir and Ramer. We prove several properties o f different nonspecificity measures. The computational complexity o f different total uncertainty measures is discussed. The need for a new measure of total uncertainty is established in Part I. In ...
متن کاملMycobacteriophages: Windows into Tuberculosis
Mycobacteriophages are viruses that infect mycobacterial hosts, such as Mycobacterium tuberculosis and Mycobacterium smegmatis [1]. Because the discovery and genomic characterization of mycobacteriophages has been the focus of integrated research and education programs, including the Phage Hunters Integrating Research and Education (PHIRE) and the Howard Hughes Medical Institute Science Educati...
متن کاملThe bone-muscle ratio of fetal lambs is affected more by maternal nutrition during pregnancy than by maternal size.
Bone formation and loss are related to the strain imposed on bone by muscle forces. Bone mineral content (BMC) and lean mass (LM) of fetal lambs was determined at day 140 of pregnancy in 8 groups of ewes, which were of either large or small body size, on either high (ad libitum) or maintenance pasture intake from day 21 of pregnancy, or carrying either singletons or twins. BMC and LM (using DXA...
متن کاملSingle Nucleotide Polymorphism Density Distribution in the Human Genome as Seen in Public Databases: Possibility of Gene Set Comparisons but not Comparisons of Genomic Regions
Genes containing extremely large or extremely small amounts of Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms (SNPs) are of specific interest for evolutionary biology. The genome areas with extreme SNP density may possess specific functions, for example, may have specific gene or structural content. We have emulated the data gaining process corresponding to the Celera sequencing scheme and found that the exce...
متن کاملβ2-Agonist ritodrine, unlike natural catecholamines, activates thermogenesis prematurely in fetal sheep.
Prolonged administration of the β2-adrenergic agonist ritodrine to fetal sheep increases nonesterified fatty acid mobilization. To investigate whether changes in fetal growth or functional development of brown adipose tissue (BAT) also occur, ritodrine was infused at 5 μg/min iv into eight fetal sheep (6 twins and 2 singletons at 125-128 days of gestation) for 5 days and then at twice this rate...
